The challenge
Are you caring for a close family member? Are you taking care of your spouse?
If you are taking care of sick people or people in need of care while working, it can get to be a lot: helping with everyday tasks, assisting with household chores, administrative tasks and coordinating care services.
It is also challenging to be a parent caring for a sick or injured child. At the same time, the presence of parents is incredibly important during difficult times.
Care / work risks
The fact that you are supporting your family members deserves admiration. Such a commitment can easily exceed that of full-time employment. However, dealing with the unexpected, being present day and night, and constantly responding to changing needs can lead to stress. Family carers often push themselves beyond their limits – and then end up ill themselves.
neglect your work, your social contacts or your own needs?
feel like the situation is getting out of control?
feel you are not getting enough support?
can no longer meet all the demands?
Then you should
contact your line manager or make use of the Movis employee assistance service. Together with you and those responsible at your company, we will find a solution to achieve a good balance between work and your care responsibilities.
Together, with your input, we assess what organisational needs you have to care for your family members, as well as the impact on your work and private life. We also take into account the expectations and needs of the person being cared for.
Based on this evaluation, we help you set up a support network and inform you about possible insurance benefits. If necessary, we mediate between you and your employer, assist you with communication and make possible arrangements for how to balance work and care.
We are here for you
Family carers make a valuable contribution to society by taking on essential tasks. This deserves recognition. We assist you so you can carry on doing this – without putting your own health at risk.
